Mabuhay Pamilya! On September 27, we hosted this year's TFCUx Talks Toronto, held at the Glendon College Theatre at York University! We are honoured to have partnered with TFCU in spreading love for our Filipino identity and empowering our Pamilya.

We are grateful to have had such incredible speakers and performers who shared their stories of how they rose above their restraints, inspiring us through their respective journeys as Filipinx-Canadians.

Tita Collective started us off with their compelling performance through a variety of songs. They are definitely not your ordinary Titas (they have musical powers beyond karaoke!). Humorous, insightful, and energetic, their messages regarding Filipino culture, taboos, and even today's current social issues amazed their audience.

Next up we had speaker Jeff Landicho—the man behind Toronto Raptors' docuseries 'Open Gym'! He grew up as a kid who had a deep passion for basketball to now sharing countless experiences with the Raptors...he is defenitely the cool Tito we would like to have in the pamilya!

Next is the co-founder of Cambio & Co., Gelaine Santiago, who advocates and celebrates Filipino craftmanship, culture and heritage. She shared her inspiring story about her experiences as an entrepreneur, while advocating her Filipino identity. She's our fashionable and stylish Ate!

Our raffle winner and one of Gelaine's pieces! (with our gorgeous Julien and Sarah!)

Next, talented musical duo Konstangeline gave a performance that was nothing short of heartwarming (it brought tears to many eyes!) There is definitely magic in Rachel's voice and Jon's guitar skills! Their beautifully crafted poetry touched our hearts.

Last but not least, our childhood crush (and favourite YTV Kuya!), Carlos Bustamante, talked us through his journey as a Filipino-Canadian and his stories in the entertainment industry. Everyone was thrilled to have met him in the flesh! Fun fact: he's even more gwapo in real life!

Ashley in her kilig moment!

By the end, we had the chance to further connect with our speakers and asked them our questions! Our Pamilya definitely took their messages home.

It was such a memorable event, enriched in stories and conversation. After the performances and talks, our Pamilya had the opportunity to personally connect and talk to our special guests. A night to remember for all who came!

A huge shoutout to our extremely hardworking team here at FSAY who made this event possible and a great experience for everyone. Hanggang sa susunod Pamilya!
